The 7000 sqm food production plant at Hahndorf, S.A., completed to our design in 2017, consists of a warehouse for inwards and outwards goods, a production area for Beerenberg’s famous line of jams, sauces and other condiments and the headquarters office and staff areas, and the owners and staff are very happy with it.
One concern here was to reduce the visual impact of a very large and high building in an area of important landscape value by applying a ‘camouflage’ scheme to the external walls. A well-known painting by famous local artist Hans Heysen (Mystic Morn) was used as a source for this scheme.
