Car Wash, Totness, S.A.
Tags: Commercial
This building is four car-wash bays, a machinery room, and a roof. The roof was intended to look light, as if it is on tip-toe; the architectural devices used to create this impression were to lift it clear of the walls, divide it down the middle with a skylight, and to use raking columns which look as if they’re holding it down. Built in 2005, this project retains its commercial popularity, with plenty of queuing room and easy vehicular circulation. A recent refurbishment provided its bay walls with ceramic tiling, a scheme for which was shelved when the building originally erected.
